My Philosophy
A Doula is like a trail guide, familiar with the path, she keeps you hiking through the hard parts, knowing the view at the end is incredible.
My name is Catlyn, I am a lover, giver, nurture, supporter, confidant, and friend. I strive to make this world a better place by being the happiness in someone's day.
I married my best friend Christmas 2010 and together we have three beautiful girls with us Earth side and two Angel's watching over us. We are a military family who enjoys spending time with one another, exploring the world around us, and trying out new hobbies.
I started birth work after I had my second child- with a husband who just didn't know how to help me and the lack of support and knowledge I was destined for that traumatic birth. I decided I wanted to help others not have the same birth I had, yet enjoy their birthing experience- no matter how they chose to birth- after all we remember this day for years to come. I obtained my birth doula certification in the winter of 2015. From there I found another passion after supporting a family with a fetal demise. Helping families during their loss, and serving families welcoming their rainbow's is one of my greatest and humblest honors.
I have experience in helping families not only during pregnancy and birth, but learning to transition into their new family dynamic. Breastfeeding and Cloth diapering are also fields that I hold experience in. I am also IPPA trained as a placenta encapsulation specialist.
